Based on the information shared by the staff of the Rostov Region Administration press center, in the very near future, farmers in the Konstantinovsky region of the region will be able to receive funds that will compensate for the damage caused to pastoralists during outbreaks of African swine fever at the beginning of this year.
It is reported that money to support affected owners of livestock farms will be allocated from the Don Reserve Fund. We are talking about the amount of four million four hundred thousand rubles.
It should be recalled that the attack of the insidious virus in the Rostov region reached its peak in March this year. The two farms of the Konstantinovsky district, Udrazno-Kagalnitsky and Kastirsky, suffered the greatest damage from the African swine fever.
In the framework of preventive and liquidation measures, more than two hundred and eighty pigs, the total mass of which exceeded thirty-eight tons, were seized from these farms. All seized pigs were not subject to treatment and were destroyed at a special disposal site in compliance with all epizootic safety measures.
The level of damage caused was estimated by specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region. In their calculations, the experts relied on the average market value of livestock products.
It is known that the money aimed at covering the damage will be distributed among Rostov breeders very soon - in July 2019.
