The acute shortage of grain and flour on the territory of Turkmenistan forces the inhabitants of this country to ask for help from neighboring countries.
The fact is that poor-quality care of Turkmen farmers for their own grain fields significantly reduced the state’s cereal resources.
A considerable influence on the appearance of the grain deficit was also caused by the fact that at one time the Turkmens provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan by sending large quantities of grain for them. As a result, the reserves of the Turkmens have been depleted, and today they are turning to the agrarians of the Russian Federation for help. The first to respond to the appeal of the suffering Turkmen were the grain workers of the Stavropol Territory. At the moment, it is known that a contract was signed between the two parties for the supply of winter grain from Stavropol to Turkmenistan. Expected delivery time is mid-May of this year.
Based on information shared with the public by the deputy head of the Stavropol Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Oleinikov, the volumes of consignments of winter wheat will go from Russia to Turkmenistan, exceed ten thousand tons.It is possible that along with wheat, the Stavropol alfalfa, barley and other crops will go to the Turkmen.
