Significant losses in the yield of a crop such as grapes can be the result of the impact of adverse climatic conditions that have formed in the current summer months on agricultural areas of the southern and central regions of Ukraine.
Vine growers who plantations in these areas express their fears about the frequent outbreaks of oidium.
This disease was triggered by the heat, which hit the regions a month ago, and the torrential rains that followed after it only aggravated the already plight of grape bushes.
You can not discount pests such as birds that adore pecking vines. Particularly loved berries such feathered as blackbirds and sparrows, which do not spare the labor of Ukrainian winegrowers.
It is important to note that last spring, in May 2019, representatives of the scientific center at the Institute of Agricultural Economics expressed their assumptions regarding the development of viticulture in the country.
They predicted a decrease in grape production by four and a half percent this year. In other words, the projected yield indicator for the year is four hundred forty-six thousand four hundred tons.
