High prices for cucumbers at 100 UAH / kg remained in the past and prices gradually fall to the usual level. At the same time, the offer from Ukrainian manufacturers is increasing daily.
Locally grown cucumbers went on sale more than a month ago. Depending on the region and retail network, imported cucumbers cost from 47 to 55 UAH / kg, and Ukrainian - from 55 to 62 UAH / kg.
It should be noted that most buyers with the advent of Ukrainian-grown cucumbers abruptly switched to the local product. This situation is understandable, as the Ukrainian consumer trusts local products more. At the same time, such increased attention to local vegetables provoked their rise in price, but the rapid increase in the rate of sampling from greenhouses slightly restrains prices.
Previously, the bulk of early Ukrainian cucumbers was exported to the Baltic countries and Belarus. But high prices in domestic markets and low in foreign markets forced manufacturers to reorient themselves. Thanks to this, Ukrainians have the opportunity to enjoy fresh vegetables of local cultivation for several weeks now.
With the start of the open-season vegetable season, cucumbers will be very cheap. Therefore, only those manufacturers who can send the product for export on time and will not try to maintain high prices will be able to survive.
