The Kantyshevskaya greenhouse in Ingushetia will reach its planned capacity in 2020, the company’s director general Abdula Hadziev said in a statement.
“At present, the greenhouse area is 5.5 thousand m².
The launch is planned for the first two months of 2020. We cultivated a one-time Clery variety, and now we have started working with new Murano varieties, which allows us to grow crops all year round, ”said Mr. Khadziev.
According to Khadziev, in 2020 the greenhouse will give work to another 30 new employees. The first harvest of a new variety is expected in November 2019.
After achieving production capacity, it is planned to receive about 60-70 thousand kg. berries and send them for sale to Moscow, the surrounding regions and sell them on the local market.
Russia does not yet have full-fledged strawberry production; most of the products are imported. Only one strawberry cultivation complex in Kislovodsk has more impressive dimensions than the greenhouses of Ingushetia.
Nevertheless, the Kantyshevskaya greenhouse has certain prospects, the general director of the complex noted. These greenhouses in Ingushetia were laid in 2018, and the first crops were harvested in early 2019.
