Millions can be earned on pumpkins that are sold at cheap prices on the market, Leonti Gasyuk from Kamenetz-Podolsky District is convinced. He produces pumpkin seed oil.

In the countryside, pumpkin grows in every garden. But there is practically no mass cultivation of this vegetable. At least in the Khmelnitsky region until recently, not only large companies, but also small farms did not do this. Leonty Gasyuk from the Kamenetz-Podolsky district decided to break the agrarian stereotypes and took up not only the cultivation, but also the processing of pumpkin, since the final product is much more expensive.

It is noteworthy that in Egypt, pumpkin oil is very much appreciated for its healing properties. There it is used as a dietary supplement that positively affects the body. 0.5 liter of pumpkin oil in Egypt costs $ 40. But Leonty Gasyuk is not going to raise the price to the Egyptian level, oil is already quite expensive as for our not too rich buyers.

Gasyuk's small farm occupies almost 150 hectares. Under the pumpkin, the farmer allocates about 3 hectares. His wife helps him cope with work. And in the season he hires an accountant and two machine operators. The farm has a pumpkin harvester, a dryer for seeds and a small oil mill.

Leonty uses only pumpkin seeds in his work, from which he extracts expensive oil. The rest of the vegetable remains on the field as fertilizer. A small farm does not own such capacity that could completely process the pumpkin.

From seeds obtained on 3 hectares, the entrepreneur receives up to 400 liters of oil. Even at a price of 600 UAH / l, you can get 240 thousand UAH. At the same time, from growing wheat, you can get up to 35 thousand UAH / ha.

In the immediate plans of the farmer - to master the production of linseed oil. True, the agrarian is not going to grow flax, since the quality of the soil does not allow it. But the entrepreneur will not refuse to process purchased flax.
