In the period from June 1 to July 1 of the current year, trade between agricultural producers and customers of Georgia and the Russian Federation grew by more than four percent compared to the same period in 2018.
It is known that at the moment the volume of turnover exceeded six hundred seventy seven million eight hundred thousand US dollars.
The share of Russian goods in Georgia’s foreign turnover is about eleven and a half percent of the total. In other words, Russia ranks second in the ranking of Georgia’s trading partners. It is known that the Russians in this matter are second only to manufacturers and customers from Turkey.
It will not be superfluous to note that the lion's share of external shipments from Russia to Georgia is agricultural and farm products.
It is no secret that over the past six months, producers of the Russian Federation have sent over one hundred and forty thousand tons of wheat to the Georgian market, as well as at least sixteen thousand tons of vegetable oil from sunflower seeds.
As for Georgia, it exports wines, mineral waters and spirits to the Russian market. All this in total provides a turnover of one hundred three and a half million US dollars.
