A new case of African swine fever has been reported in the Khmelnitsky region, according to a report from the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Khmelnitsky region.
The ASF center was identified in Obolon Agro LLC, in the village of Pochapintsy, Chemirovetsky district. Specialists of the State Food and Beverage Service left for the scene where they took biomaterial for research.
The Khmelnitsky State Regional Laboratory, based on the study of biomaterial samples, diagnosed ASF, said Alexander Sadovyuk, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Khmelnitsky region.
Now plans for the elimination of ASF have already been agreed, the boundaries of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones have been determined. During the meeting of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission, the ASF focal point is the farm territory in the village of Pochapintsy. The villages of Pochapintsy and Sadovoy entered the threat zone, a 10-kilometer zone around the outbreak is designated as a surveillance zone.
At this time, the destruction of the entire livestock, which has 547 individuals, has been completed. When the incubation period ends, the villagers who were in the protection zone will be asked to hand over the pigs for slaughter, said Alexander Sadovyuk.
For information, the last outbreak of ASF in the Khmelnitsky region was detected last year in the same locality. Only then the animals fell ill not on the farm, but in the private household.
