Walmart Inc, an American multinational retail corporation that manages a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores, takes control of the Angus beef supply chain sold in some of its stores, cutting meat processing plants as the company strives to offer higher quality products in an extremely competitive food industry .
The largest retailer said that this step will ensure the supply of high-quality Angus beef and satisfy the needs of customers who want to know the origin of their meat.
Walmart usually bought Angus beef from companies like Tyson Foods Inc and Cargill Inc. Now, Walmart has agreed to supply Texas Cattle ranch Bob McClaren from Prime Pursuits and 44 Farms, who said the retailer will sell Black Angus beef without the addition of hormones.Tyson Foods Inc and Cargill Inc. stated that they support the Walmart project. Walmart's efforts to tighten control over meat supplies followed after he switched to selling high-quality Angus beef in 2017.
According to Cassie Fish, a meat industry expert who previously worked at Tyson, the retailer’s recent actions are aimed at young consumers who need greater transparency in food production and the absence of growth hormones in their meat.
