Producers of poultry meat, which are based in two states of Mexico, put their production in a not very favorable light. As a result, Russian experts introduced a taboo on the supply of this meat to the territory of the Russian Federation. The ban will enter into force on the next Monday, March 25, 2019.

The main reason that buyers from Russia refused to accept the Mexican chicken was the epizootic situation that developed in the states of Aguascalientes and Tlascala - the majority of the agricultural birds there were infected with a dangerous virus. We are talking about Newcastle disease, which periodically overcomes birds throughout the world.

Newcastle disease is known to be a viral avian disease. In order to save the poultry stock from the insidious pathogen, poultry breeders in different countries try to take timely preventive measures: vaccinate chickens and other representatives of the agricultural poultry stock, and also carry out other sanitary measures.

As for the Russian ban, it should be clarified that the experts introduced a taboo not only on poultry meat from two Mexican states, but also on hatching eggs, live birds, as well as on other products made by employees of two states that were not exposed to heat processing.

It will not be amiss to note that the ban also applies to bird feed, feed additives, as well as equipment for poultry farms that were in use in the states of Aguascalientes and Tlascala. This applies to equipment for cutting and slaughtering birds, as well as equipment for keeping birds.

It is noteworthy that not only the import of Mexican poultry products into Russia is prohibited, but also transit through the territory of the Russian Federation.
