The seminar “Prospects for the development of the beekeeping industry”, organized by the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of KHOA, was held as part of the forum “Agroport South Kherson”.

The most interesting and active discussion at the seminar was the presentation of online tools for beekeepers, according to the press service of the Department of Agriculture of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

For the second year, beekeepers of the Kherson region can use the “Grand expert” warning system. This online resource allows beekeepers to keep abreast of land cultivation with chemicals in order to take action on time.

The project “Grand expert” was initiated by Ukrainian beekeepers themselves. It is a free resource on which farmers tell the time and place of processing the fields of plant protection. Beekeepers whose apiaries are located in a 10-kilometer zone from the processing site receive an SMS message with information about the spraying process.

The location of apiaries at the request of the owners can be classified information, that is, no one except the apiaries themselves on the site will not see it. The resource was approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and is recommended for use by agricultural producers and beekeepers.

Recall that the Kherson region is relatively prosperous in the situation with poisoning of bees with chemicals during field cultivation. This is due to the timely warning of the beekeepers about the planned treatments.

The second resource, the presentation of which aroused great interest, is called the Honey Exchange. This online platform for beekeepers allows you to find buyers for your products online and get a better price than when sold to reseller intermediaries.

Also on the resource there are ads on the sale of other beekeeping products, tools and equipment for beekeepers.
