They are trying to breed a new breed of cows in Ukraine - Mombelyard - with a high yield of protein in milk, in the village of Mukhovtsy, Nemirovsky District, Vinnitsa Region.
From the Ukrainian red-pockmarked dairy breed on a farm in the village of Mukhovtsy, which is headed by Sergey Dovgy, they are trying to breed a new breed of cows - mumbellard.
As the farmer explains, this breed is highly productive and produces milk with a high yield of protein. It is such raw materials that are necessary for the manufacture of cheeses.
Near the farm there is a mini-factory, which produces cheeses of various varieties, and yoghurts, and other dairy products.
Sergei Dovgy recalls that it all started with five cows brought from the Crimea in 2009. And today at his farm there are 80 cows that are cared for according to the recommendations of French geneticists.
There is always fresh air in cowsheds so that ammonia harmful to animals does not accumulate. Cows have constant access to food and water, and most importantly, they move freely.
The farm today contains cows of two breeds: black-piebald holstein and Ukrainian red-pocked dairy. French geneticists, along with their Ukrainian counterparts, consider Ukrainian red-pockmarked to breed Mombellard more promising.
