Veronica officinalis is a perennial herb, often found in glades, in forests and copses of the European part of the CIS. It can be easily recognized by tiny, delicate purple flowers collected in multi-flowered brushes.
Traditional healers are sure that Veronica helps fight colds, as well as diseases of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract. And also this plant is able to stimulate appetite and digestive processes.
The flowers of perennial Veronica have a blue color, which sometimes comes to bright blue.
Veronica blooms in early May. Flowering period ends in October-November.

Veronica oil infusion is used externally for purulent wounds, burns, boils. Fresh leaves are used for skin diseases: acne, rashes, scabies, suppuration, as well as hyperhidrosis of the feet.
The infusion is prepared from the calculation: 2 tablespoons of chopped herbs for 2 cups boiling water. Take 1/2 cup 4 times a day.
The juice of a fresh plant is taken for kidney diseases, gout 2-3 teaspoons in the morning before meals.

Veronica in gynecology
In gynecology, for various inflammatory processes, a herbal collection of 3 parts of Veronica officinalis is often used, the same number of chamomile flowers and clover grass. For a liter of boiling water take 5 tablespoons of phytosborne, stand 30 minutes. Do cleansing douching from warm water. Then in the evening they drink 500 ml of hot infusion and put an enema with the same infusion in the amount of 150 ml (2 hours before bedtime). Immediately before going to bed, douching is carried out with the remaining infusion.
This procedure should be carried out three times a week for two months. During treatment, sexual activity is prohibited.
But remember that before using veronica in the treatment of gynecological (and any other) ailments, you should definitely consult your doctor and get permission from him to use alternative methods of therapy, including veronica infusion.
In case of gynecological diseases accompanied by itching of the external genital organs, infusion of Veronica is washed on the diseased parts of the body or doing sedentary baths with it.
During menopause

The fight against anorexia
With manifestations of anorexia, as well as during a period of lack of appetite, traditional healers recommend an infusion of Veronica officinalis prepared according to the following recipe: for 1 liter of boiling water for 3 tablespoons of the plant, drink 100 ml four times a day with anorexia and poor appetite, digestive disorders. The course is up to 1 month.
Veronica infusion is well suited for gargling with exacerbation of tonsillitis, with acute tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis.
Skin problems
Such a folk method saved many from neurodermatitis, dry eczema: 5 full tablespoons of Veronica herb and a liter of boiling water. After the infusion is well standing in a thermos, they moisten gauze and apply for 5 minutes to problem areas.
You can add infusion to the basin for bathing a child (in proportion to water 1:20).
The same infusion is well suited for gargling with exacerbation of tonsillitis, with acute tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis. To treat these diseases, gargle for 3 minutes up to 6 times a day.
When Veronica is contraindicated
The use of Veronica for any therapeutic purpose is prohibited, provided that the patient is diagnosed with:
- individual intolerance of a shrub plant;
- allergic reactions to both rhizomes and the stem of the grass;
- high blood pressure;
- pregnancy (also during lactation);
- diseases of the cardiovascular system;
- renal failure.
