In addition to honey and wax, beneficial insects - bees - provide many other products that have a healing effect on the human body. The benefits and harms of such products are discussed later in the article.
Pollen
Bees begin to collect pollen during the flowering season of fruit trees, garden and wildflowers. From the moment the first flowers are planted on the trees and plants until the end of summer or the beginning of autumn (as long as there are flowering plants), the bee collects useful pollen grains. The collection is simple: the insect sits on a flower, taking pollen and collecting it into pollen lumps on its hind legs. Then the raw material is transferred to the hive, where it is stored for feeding young insects or for eating by adult bees if necessary.
Beekeepers collect this product using special catcher frames. They are placed at the entrance to the hive, and when the bees return home and crawl into the hive, lumps of pollen remain in the trap. The composition of pollen contains a lot of vitamins, it is used both in the treatment and in the prevention of various diseases, decreased immunity, postoperative recovery and loss of strength.
Important! The use of pollen is not recommended for pregnant, lactating women and people with allergies to beekeeping products, as well as to diabetics.
The beekeeping product can be frozen: it still does not lose its beneficial properties. To prevent the pollen from starting to rot, it is dried before storage at a temperature of + 40 ° C in a special dehydrator (dryer for fruits and vegetables) or in the open sun, but so that other insects do not have access to it.
Pollen composition:

- water.
Zabrus
Zabrus is a useful honey product, in other words, honeycombs with honey preserved inside. It is considered one of the most healthy and delicious natural bee products. You can often see at fairs along with banks filled with a sweet treat, and honeycombs of zabrus.
Did you know? The ancient Egyptians also used zabrus for medicinal purposes: at the excavation of the pyramids in Egypt, scientists discovered bee honeycombs. It was a zabrus, which the priests carefully put to other things of the pharaoh, believing that the ruler would benefit from medicine even in the afterlife.
The composition of zabrus includes:
- honey;
- wax;
- pollen;
- propolis;
- perga.
Contraindications to the use of zabrus are the same as to the use of pollen: allergy to honey products or any bee products, pregnancy, breastfeeding. Caloric content of zabrus: 377 kcal per 100 g.The product is recommended for diseases of the teeth and gums, gastrointestinal diseases and colds. At a time, it is recommended to eat no more than 2-3 teaspoons of the mixture. The wax base can be chewed for a long time until it completely loses aroma and taste.
Royal jelly
Royal jelly is a beekeeping product, which after many years of use is credited with truly magical properties. The belief is widespread that it cures any disease. Its nurse bees are produced to feed uterine larvae. It is interesting that the queen bee eats its entire life, mainly royal jelly, which is produced by the bee family.

The form of all substances is such that they are easily absorbed. Thanks to the natural antiseptic germicidin, the milk does not deteriorate over time. The substance is actively used in cosmetology, with its addition produce creams, masks, shampoos, serums.In addition, the product tolerates freezing well and does not lose useful qualities when defrosting. Recommended adult dose: 5 g. Children, pregnant, lactating and allergic people should refrain from consuming royal jelly.
Perga
The so-called bee bread, or bee bread, is pollen processed by bees. Recognizing bee bread in honeycombs is very simple - it is dark in color, similar in structure to pollen, but more viscous and even slightly sticky. High-quality bee bread has a pronounced floral smell. It is taken orally in a daily amount of not more than 10 g.The calorie content of the perga is 199 kcal per 100 g. The perga is indicated even for diabetes (2 teaspoons should be divided into three doses and consumed before meals). But if this bee product is not perceived by the body, bloating and secretion of acid saliva occurs.
Bee venom
The use of bee venom (apitherapy) is an ancient medical practice for the treatment of many diseases. These days it is not widespread, there are very few experienced specialists in apitherapy. Such medical procedures are carried out in clinics, under the supervision of doctors. The method is specific, as these are ordinary bee stings, but in a controlled amount.

Propolis
A valuable substance of bee origin, the second name is a bond or bee glue. Used since ancient times to quickly get rid of skin diseases and diseases of the throat, it is considered a remedy for a hundred ailments. From a biological point of view, the bond is nothing more than plant gluten collected from the buds of plants, preceding the blooming of leaves or flowers.A lot of this “paste” is found on young linden leaves. Calorie Propolis: 319 kcal per 100 g. The color is brown, dark yellow, the taste is bitter, tarry. Contraindications: allergic manifestations after bee products or allergy to bites.
Bee death
The most exotic product of all that have been described above. Podmor - raw materials from dead, dried, powdered bees. It is sold in the same place where honey is sold at fairs or markets. It contains chitin, melanin, fats, honey residues, a complex of vitamins and minerals. It is useful for a person with obesity, atherosclerosis, is allowed for diabetics. Contraindications: individual intolerance. Use in the form of alcohol tincture.
Bee Mummy
Bee mummy - a product made from waste parasite hives, wax moths. In fact, the substance is biohumus, a repeatedly processed useful product. Few people know about this, but even insects parasitizing on the activity of bees are beneficial because they come in contact with a storehouse of trace elements and vitamins.
Indications for taking mumiyo:
- tuberculosis;
- varicose veins and other diseases of the veins;
- arthritis;
- oncological diseases.
Drone Milk
A product that is a mixture that is unique in composition. It is not similar in composition to royal jelly. The second name for drone milk is homogenate. The homogenate contains rather specific ingredients: these are the grown larvae of bees that grew in combs and ate (except for the milk of the queen bees) also bee bread and honey. The substance is removed from the honeycomb, crushed into a homogeneous mass and used for medicinal purposes.
The composition of the homogenate includes:
- hemolymph;
- vitamins;
- enzymes;
- proteins;
- amino acids;
- natural hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone).
The substance, when taken orally, improves liver function, stimulates the immune system, strengthens blood vessels and heart muscle, and helps establish metabolism. For men, the homogenate is useful in that it improves sexual function, stimulates the reproductive system.Calorie content of drone milk: 400 kcal per 100 g. In case of overdose, it can cause allergies, itching of the skin. Recommended daily intake for adults: 5 g. For children, the product is not recommended.
Warnings
Any bee products are recommended to be used only after consulting a doctor, on the recommendation. Even ordinary honey is a strong allergen, therefore it is not given to children under three years old. All of the above natural medicinal products are consumed (in the absence of an allergy) in small quantities, not exceeding the recommended doses.
Pregnant and lactating women need to refrain from honey-containing products in order to avoid an unexpected reaction to the substance and not to harm the health of the child. A person with diabetes can also use honey, but not more than once every two to three weeks and subject to daily monitoring of blood sugar.
