This summer has been relatively favorable for Syrian fish farmers living in hostilities.
It is known that not so long ago, in the vicinity of the Syrian capital, the only farm in the country that specializes in breeding rainbow trout was again commissioned.
It is reported that during the war years the farm suffered significant damage - the terrorists literally turned it into ruins. However, representatives of Damascus fisheries did not give up and revived their production literally from the ashes. And now, a few months ago, the first batch of fish stock was released into the reservoirs.
To date, the pools of the damask farm contain about fifteen thousand individuals of rainbow trout. According to industry experts, there is currently no shortage of sea fish in Syria, but the country is in short supply with river fish.
To correct this situation, farms are actively erected for trout breeding, artificial streams and ponds are created. It is noteworthy that water for breeding fish families is taken from mountain sources.
According to Damascus farm employees, today no more than fifteen people work at their enterprise. However, orders for fish from the population and purchasers are growing every day, so production will expand significantly in the very near future.
The only thing that Syria's fish farmers are hoping for is that the next military operations will not incinerate the newly restored resources.
