Activists of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Cherkasy region in front of the building of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration met with pickets calling to stop the expansion of poultry complexes at the Mironovsky Hleboproduct agricultural holding.
Citizens of Cherkasy region by picketing tried to pay attention to the environmentally harmful poultry complex of the agricultural holding "Mironovsky bakery product." They met the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in front of the building of the Regional State Administration. Activists of Kanevsky, Chigirinsky and Cherkasy regions attended.
The head of state talked with the protesters and held a meeting in the session hall of the House of Soviets with the heads of state and local government.
When discussing urgent problems of the region, they again raised the issue of non-compliance with the environmental legislation of MHP, as well as the inexpediency of allocating billions of subsidies from the state budget for the holding of Yuri Kosyuk.
The President of Ukraine assured those present that the new government will review the conditions for the allocation of assistance for the development of livestock production - and there will be no state subsidies to the mega-agro holding.
After hearing reports from the heads of the Department of Ecology of the Regional State Administration and the local environmental inspectorate about environmental threats, Vladimir Zelensky urged law enforcement agencies to adequately respond to violations of applicable laws in the field of environmental conservation.
Indeed, thousands of tons of atmospheric emissions of harmful substances from industrial poultry farms Mironovsky bakery product cause irreparable harm to nature and human health.
