Spanish bakers have adapted to cater to the tastes of even the most demanding and moody customers. Today is a farmer and, concurrently? baker Juan Moreno prepares special bread for the most generous customers of his small enterprise - for an unusual “hump” businessmen from Russia, China and the Arab countries are ready to put fabulous money on the counter of Juan.
“Water for unique bread is delivered to us from the rivers of faraway Iceland,” Moreno says with pride. “On this water, we knead the leaven according to an old recipe and add edible gold powder to the dough.”
As a result, lush loaves of truly golden color ripen in Juan's ovens. And millionaires from around the world who like to relax near the bakery, in the Spanish resort of Costa del Sol, willingly pay 192 euros for each loaf.
According to Moreno, golden powder in no way affects the taste of bread, but it makes the humpback stylish and, as the baker’s clients put it, pathetic.
Note that in the Moreno bakery, bread is also baked with the addition of silver powder and other types of unique scones, the cheapest of which costs the buyer 85 euros.
