Among Ukrainian producers of flour today there is a clear consolidation. At the same time, the majority of enterprises manufacturing it reduced the volume of output, which makes the Kiev region a monopolist in the market, said APK-inform analyst Andrey Kupchenko.
According to the expert, more than half of all flour production in Ukraine is concentrated in five areas. The absolute leadership in this industry is held by the Kiev region, which produced 88, thousand tons of flour from July to December last year.
At the same time, in the Kiev region there is a constant increase in product production, which is not found in any other region, said Andrey Kupchenko. The five largest producers of flour in Ukraine include the Vinnitsa, Khmelnitsky, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk regions. This season, they all reduced production volumes, which creates a risk of monopolization of the market by enterprises in the Kiev region, the expert summed up.
Earlier it was reported that the deterioration in the quality of capital’s bread is due to the fact that flour mills prefer to export their best products. At the same time, flour of not the best quality remains inside the country, which goes to bake bread.
