The price of white cabbage reached the level of 19-25 UAH / kg depending on the supermarket chain and the region, which can be considered a new anti-record, experts say.

Another anti-record can be considered the number of opportunities for the export of vegetables that have not been used. The lack of systematic work and the installation of a price increase led to the fact that the cost of cabbage in the domestic market was much higher than in Europe, and also higher than the price that European importers could pay.

It is indicative that the same increase in prices for cabbage was observed 5 years ago, but no conclusions were drawn from this, since the crops are spontaneous and systemic producers are few in order to skillfully manage the market.

At the end of the week, the average price of cabbage was 21 UAH / kg. The Kiev region, where prices sometimes reached 25 UAH / kg, took the leading position in terms of growth in the cost of vegetables.

Earlier it was reported that over the year, white cabbage in Ukraine has tripled in price. The main reasons for the increase in vegetable prices are experts consider a small offer of a quality product in the market and high demand for it. A relatively small amount of salable cabbage in the markets also raises prices, which comes from a crop failure and its low quality.
