On May 31 this year, in the village of Milchitsy of the Gorodok district of the Lviv region, a cheese factory from the Garbuzovy Rai company was opened. The farm processes milk, produces butter, cheese, and produces canned fruits and vegetables, the press service of the Lviv Regional State Administration said.
This event is acting Lyudmila Goncharenko, director of the department of agro-industrial development, called an important step towards the development of rural territories.
She argued her position by the fact that the creation of enterprises of this type stimulates small business in the countryside, the manufacture of value-added goods and contributes to the preservation of traditional cheese making.
According to Lyudmila Goncharenko, companies of this type could attract tourists to the village, thereby contributing to the development of the rural gastrotourism industry.
Earlier it was reported that 33 farms of the Lviv region united in the Gorbogory cluster in order to jointly conduct business and attract tourists. The main objective of the cluster is the development of tourism.
But since it is difficult to surprise a tourist with the area, farmers will start from scratch. It is planned that in "Gorbogory" will be conducted excursions to enterprises, organized bicycle trips, as well as sledding, skiing, rafting and horseback riding.
